     The
city of Ozark has a mayor and city council form of government. Elections take place every two years for the city council and every four years for the   mayor and city clerk. 
   
    City council meetings are open to the public and are broadcast on the local cable channel. There is an active planning commission as well. 

    The Mayor’s Office is accessible to the general public daily.

Ozark Fire Department





 
   The Ozark Volunteer Fire Department provides a combination fire, rescue, and emergency medical service response. The 22 member department includes six with firefighters 2 or equivalent rating, two paramedics, eight EMTs and six medical first responders. The medical personnel staff a BLS (Basic Life Support) ambulance answering all emergency medical calls within the city. The city has two centrally located fire stations; Station 1 has a 2007 E-One Engine, 2008 E-One 75 ft. Ladder Truck, Rescue Truck with Jaws of Life equipment, an equipment truck and a BLS ambulance on call.
  
    
    Station 2 is an auxiliary station housing a secondary fire engine and wild land truck. The full-time Fire Chief duties also include fire and building code inspections within the city.

Main Street Ozark

    

    

    Main Street Ozark is a city program run by Sandy Key. 

    The program's mission statement is: To encourage the development, redevelopment, promotion, and improvement of the downtown area in Ozark, Arkansas through education and historic preservation.  
    Main Street Ozark is in charge of the Square Gathering event held in October.
